LEE, Laurel, a Representative from Florida; born in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, March 26, 1974; B.A., University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla.; J.D., University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla., 1999; law clerk, United States District Court Judge James S. Moody Jr.; lawyer, private practice; assistant federal prosecutor, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida; Hillsborough County, Fla., circuit court judge, 2013-2019; Florida secretary of state, 2019-2022; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighteenth and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2023-present); one of the managers appointed by the House of Representatives in 2024 to conduct the impeachment proceedings of Alejandro N. Mayorkas, United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
