BESSENT, Scott Kenneth Halford, a hedge-fund manager and economist from the State of South Carolina, currently serving as the 79th Secretary of the Treasury; founded Key Square Group in 2015 and previously served as Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management; born in Conway, South Carolina, August 21, 1962; B.A. Yale University, 1984; took the oath of office as Secretary of the Treasury on January 28, 2025.
