FISCHER, Debra (Deb), a Senator from Nebraska; born in Lincoln, Neb., March 1, 1951; graduated University of Nebraska, B.S., 1988; rancher; Valentine Rural High School Board of Education 1990-2004; Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education 2000-2004; Nebraska Unicameral Legislature 2005-2012; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2012 for the term commencing January 3, 2013; reelected in 2018 and again in 2024 for the term ending January 3, 2031.
